Blue Horizon

A soft, layered glaze inspired by open water and the shifting blues of the sea beyond the coast. Satin White melts into a muted ocean blue, creating a calm, fluid transition of colour that feels like looking out across deep water.

Rather than a fixed horizon, this glaze is about movement and immersion—water in constant change, light passing through depth and distance. Each piece varies subtly in tone and transition, shaped by kiln position and the natural behaviour of the glaze. Speckling from the clay body adds warmth beneath the cooler surface, while the satin finish remains smooth and tactile.

Inspired by a childhood spent living by the sea and moving between coastlines, it carries memories of being in the water often—swimming daily, and feeling completely at ease in the sea. It also holds moments of watching dolphins move alongside boats in the waters around Gibraltar…brief, unexpected connections in open water.

Calm, spacious, and quietly reflective, Blue Horizon brings a sense of depth, movement, and immersion to everyday rituals.
